Hard Drive Size Used The disk space used by System Restore is determined by the size of the Windows drive (the partition/drive which has Windows installed, usually drive C) and is as follows:
Once the space used by System Restore reaches 90 percent of the allotted size, System Restore begins to "purge" older Restore Points on a first-in first-out (FIFO) basis until the 50 percent of its allotted size is free. You can also adjust the size of used by System Restore manually, follow these steps:
Note: Reducing the disk space used by System Restore may remove existing Restore Points (on a FIFO basis), so use caution when performing this action. You can also disable System Restore. To do that, follow these steps:
Note: Disabling System Restore will remove all existing Restore Points.
